Where It All Started

Like any great invention, RinseKit started out as a solution to a problem. Founder Chris Crawford, a native Southern Californian and avid surfer, was getting out from a lunch break session at Ponto Beach in Carlsbad, CA to return to work running his pool construction business. Chris hated the feeling of being salty and sandy at work after his sessions, and wanted to create a solution to clean off on-the-go. That's where the idea of a RinseKit was born - as a way for Chris to maximize his time in the water, while still being able to freshen up quickly before returning to the jobsite.

Garage Prototype to Game-Changer

Chris didn’t set out to build a business—he just wanted a rinse that worked. But the first RinseKit he built caught the attention of fellow surfers, campers, and even parents at the beach. It was simple: pressurized water, no pumps or batteries, and ready to go anywhere. Word spread fast. What started as a homemade project quickly turned into something much bigger. Orders rolled in, and Chris officially launched RinseKit—right out of his garage in Southern California.

Backyard Hack to Big-Time Brand

As RinseKit gained traction, people started finding all kinds of new ways to use it. What began as a post-surf solution quickly became essential gear for campers, mountain bikers, dog owners, outdoor workers, and parents with sandy kids. That organic momentum pushed RinseKit into its next phase. The demand wasn’t just local anymore—it was national. From there, things moved fast.

RinseKit made an appearance on Shark Tank, introducing the product to a massive audience and catching the attention of major retailers. Soon after, RinseKit landed on the shelves of Home Depot, Costco, and other national chains. What started at a beach in Carlsbad had suddenly become a household name known around the world - and Chris hasn't looked back since.

A Decade of Innovation

Now 10 years since it's founding, Chris has been focused on one thing: making RinseKit the most powerful, convenient, and easy to use portable shower on the market.

The spirit of innovation lead Chris to release the first battery-pressurized portable shower in 2019. The water pressure and ease-of-use of these systems was, and is still, umatched.
